What the service offers
Business Victoria’s Business Recovery Advisory Service for the summer 2026 Victorian bushfires helps businesses navigate government and council assistance, insurance or landlord issues, support services and recovery planning. Its guidance includes business continuity and contingency planning. The program is jointly funded by the Australian and Victorian Governments under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements.
Why it matters
The service’s remit recognises that business owners may need help coordinating several practical problems at once. Reopening is one milestone; navigating the conditions around recovery may require continuing support.
Questions for local recovery practice
Councils and support organisations could ask owners which issue is currently preventing their next step and whether they know where to obtain relevant assistance. A clear referral pathway can form part of a local recovery plan.
